Event photography presents its own set of unique challenges, as they often have busy schedules with lots of simultaneous activities that all need to be captured. It requires meticulous organization to make sure that no key moment goes unphotographed. Light brings with its own set of challenges as it can be unpredictable from bright harsh sunlight or dimly lit auditoriums and quickly adapting to these lighting conditions requires experience. Below we detail how we can guarantee that we capture your event in the best way possible.
Venue - lighting - composition -branding -
The key to event photography is being able to quickly think on your feet and adapt to the every space of which each comes with its own unique set of challenges. Finding interesting compositions is the first step to great images and not all venues are as dynamic as the one in this image. However, we can alway find some way of creating depth in the image which helps to keep in dynamic. Also by using foreground elements we can help to frame the subject pulling the viewer's eye to the most important part of the frame. Light can also be an issue in venues as the camera can only see a much smaller range of exposures than the human eye can meaning that areas can be blown out or underexposed and dark. They way we combat this is by using a flash even out the exposure to the camera. As part of our kit we have a range of different flash set ups that we can bring with so that we can tailor ourselves to pretty much any environment and still fantastic images.
Branding
We Know that a lot of effort goes into creating all the branding for an event. So it is important to capture elements of it where ever we can. It is also helps to differentiate your event from everyone elses. There can be subtle was on including branding with shots of guests with signage in the background. But detail shots like this can be another great way to get another type of image with logos in that helps the break up the flow of all the images looking similar.
People
The most important part of any event is the people. Our main objective is to capture those moments of expression that show the atmosphere at your event. The way we do this is through a purely documentary approach, by allway keeping our heads on a swivel and using years of experience we are able to anticipate a moment before it happens to make sure that we capture the shot. We often find the way to get the best images is to capture people when they are unaware and relaxing. As rule of thumb people dislike being photographed so by being discrete they won't even notice that we are there. Not only does this get better images but leaves your guest to relax and enjoy the event without feeling harassed.
