For most people the idea of being photographed is not a fun experience to say the least, however, having a photographer that can put you at ease and guide you through the process makes it much more enjoyable. This is something that we can guarantee to do regardless of how inexperienced you may be in front of the camera to make you photoshoot as easy as possible. To help you prepare I have listed some of my best tips and tricks that can help you get the most out of your shoot. However, it's important to remember that this is just a guide and what is most important is that the image represents you the best it can.

Plan Your Wardrobe

What you wear can play a significant role in how your headshots turn out. As things such as busy patterns or logos that may draw attention away from you. Solid colors generally work best, as they are less distracting and help keep the focus on your face. This can also be a great way to sneak you brand colours into the image. However it's more important that your clothing reflects your personal style while still being in keeping with your branding so if you always wear patterns don't change yourself for the image its more important that the image look like you. Additionally, making sure your clothes are clean and wrinkle-free helps to remove any unnecessary distractions.

Choose the Right Location and Background

The location and background of your headshot can greatly influence the overall look and feel of the photo. Simplicity is key, choose a background that is clean, uncluttered, and complements your overall branding aesthetic. Solid colors or subtle textures work well and help keep the focus on you. Avoid busy or distracting backgrounds that could detract from your presence in the image If you're unsure about the best location or background for your headshots, don't hesitate to ask for guidance as we are happy to chat this through.

Relax

Many people feel nervous or self-conscious when being photographed. However, the most important part of any headshot is not to overthink how to act infront of the camera as it is our job as the photographer to guide you through the process and it's always much easier than you think. The key is to just be yourself and that will come across in the images. If there's any preferences you have for example a prefered side

don't be afraid to speak up. Communication is key, so don't hesitate to ask questions or share any ideas you may have.
